The snow tube and snow sleds are made of special cold-resistant material and have cold-resistant heavy duty handles. They are also designed to be used for body surfing in the water - truly year 'round inflatable sport products.
Sevylor is famous for having invented and developed inflatable playthings for the winter season. About 25 years ago, upon the request of the Alpine Ski Patrol, Sevylor developed an inflatable sled to retrieve injured skiers out of inaccessible places where the use of the conventional metal sled was impossible. To accomplish this task, Sevylor closely worked with a chemical company to develop a PVC fabric which will not become stiff and crack in freezing conditions.
The Sevylor tubes and sleds have handles and are especially designed for the snow. Under certain snow conditions they can develop great speed. However, the steerability and maneuverability is not much better than of an ordinary automobile inner tube. Please exercise normal caution when using these products. Scout the terrain for sudden drops and other objects that you may hit. Wearing of goggles and helmet is recommended.
Children should be under the supervision of an adult. Do not use on or near highways, where one could collide with other vehicles. The LGS2026 sled has special runners which will enhance the traction, but they do not increase the steerability and maneuverability of the item.
