James Laing, a successful coal mine owner, built this stately home in 1904. This lovely three-story stone house features eight bedrooms and six "tigered" oak fireplaces and is listed on the National Historic Register.

The General Lewis Inn and Restaurant is a blend of the old and new, created and operated by the same family since 1929.
