Margate is not a pink Elephant..... Although it is home to "Lucy", An attraction that bears a striking resemblance to one. Looming in the shadows of Atlantic City sits this community with Beautiful Shoreline and pristine beaches and "Lucy" a National Landmark built in 1881. This Landmark was originally built to draw visitors to the area and over the years has been used as a hotel and now has become an attraction in it's own right. Three stories high and weighing in at over 90 tons Lucy now greets visitors which come to Margate expressly for the purpose of viewing this wonder.
The Beach crowd at Margate is mixed with visitors from the Tri-State area, Day trippers and locals as well as visitors from Atlantic City who prefer the Beaches in Margate to splashing in the surf in A.C.
