Not really known for it's Beaches, Somers Point has two that we found. In the Southern portion is John F. Kennedy Park which has a quiet little section with a boat launching ramp. The Beach area is mainly used by sports craft and wind sailing by the locals in the area. Heading North is the public beach area with restroom facilities. Although not well known this section of beach has been written up in articles bringing it a little more attention than it had in the past.
The majority of beach visitors are locals with a slight mixture of day trippers and vacationers looking for Longport's quieter atmosphere from Atlantic City. There is a large number of Hotels/Motels serving the area though most of them are located on the major roads in Somers Point.
