Avon By The Sea is known for its B&B's, and Victorian atmosphere which is evident on the Boardwalk through it's Victorian lamp posts and pavilians, Young children and families are the mainstay of the beaches and consist mainly of guests from the Inns and day trippers fron Northern New Jersey and surrounding communities.

Public restrooms are located at the pavilion at Washington Avenue, and beach wheelchairs are available at East End Avenue and at the Garfield Avenue handicapped ramp.

The Borough consists mainly of one family houses, several apartments and condominiums. South of the Borough of Bradley Beach, and North of the Borough of Belmar. It has a land area of less than 1/2 mile and a year round population of approximately 2,000. The Borough also has a park containing a ball field, and a recreational area with tennis courts.

Visit and you will find a four season, seaside, Victorian community located on the Atlantic Ocean - only 60 miles from New York City and Philadelphia.

Surrounded by three different bodies of water. Avon-by-the-Sea has much to offer vacationers and day visitors, clean, white sandy beaches, fine restaurants and quaint shops and a quiet non-commercial boardwalk which abounds with benches and pavilions for your relaxing pleasure.

In addition to it's beautiful beaches, the Borough has a municipally owned and operated pool and a boardwalk spanning the entire length of the Borough.

Two marinas are located in the Borough on the Shark River and contain facilities for boating and fishing.
