Featuring a large selection of Shore photography for sale

Manasquan was first settled as part of Shrewsbury in the late 1600's. It takes it name, from the Lenni Lenape Indians who were among the first to discover and enjoy the summer pleasures offered by the area. With approximately one mile of newly replenished, clean sandy beaches and it's central Jersey location Manasquan has become a mecca for sunworshippers.

Due to it's popularity an abundance of rental accommodations for family groups has sprung up from the many summer cottages that were built by vacationers in years past. You will also find a thriving business community centered around a small town, main street atmosphere.

Beach passes are available on Daily, Weekly or a seasonal basis and there are 14 small beaches, designated by guard stands. All beaches except three are protected during the week and all 14 are protected on weekends.

The Beach crowd is mixed with families and the younger jet set splitting the beaches equally. (The younger set hanging out near the concession stands) Surfing is available at Inlet beach.

Parking is usually readily available during the week, but can become an adventure to find a slot open on weekends. 4 Municipal lots are located at Pompano, Third, Fourth and Stockton avenues.

Manasquan is also the premier Shore community dedicated to the handicapped in the Jersey Shore area. Elks Beach provides handicapped parking and a wooden boardwalk to a platform on the beach. In addition, there are several large handicapped chairs available for use on the beach and at the water's edge.
