Barnegat Light Description and Photos

Barnegat Light, located on Long Beach Island, (LBI), has numerous Beach sections that are protected during the Season. Beach passes are sold on a weekly or daily basis from Borough Hall, 10th Street West and may also be purchased from the Badge checkers patrolling the beaches.

The Beach crowd is family orientated and consists of Locals, and North Jersey and Penn. day trippers. The Handicapped have access to numerous Beach wheelchairs and handicapped-designated parking is at Ninth and 29th streets. Regular parking is allowed on all side streets and also a parking lot at Bay Beach.

Restrooms can be found at the 10th Street and Bayview Avenue boat ramp and at Barnegat Light State Park. There is no beach at the state park and bathing is not allowed, but it is definately worth visiting the Lighthouse located there.

No Food or drinks are allowed on the beaches and concessions and restaurants are located near Boulevard and Broadway. For the atheletically inclined, Volleyball nets are located along the beaches and there are tennis, basketball and a playground located at the West 10th Street recreation area.
