Beach Haven Gardens Description and Photos

Beach Haven Gardens, Located on the Southern Portion of Long Beach Island is North of Spray Beach and South of Beach Haven Terrace. The beach crowd is a genuine mixture of all types, as is the entire Long Beach Township beaches. You will find Locals and their guests as well as Day Trippers, and vacationers from NYC, Northern New Jersey and Philly.

Long Beach Township's Beaches are comprised of Brant Beach, Beach Haven Crest, Brighton Beach, Peahala Park, Beach Haven Park, Haven Beach, The Dunes, Beach Haven Terrace, Beach Haven Gardens, Spray Beach, North Beach Haven, South Beach Haven, Holgate, Beach Haven Inlet, North Beach, and Loveladies

Beach Passes are sold on a Daily, Weekly and seasonal basis, and can be purchased at the township municipal building, Long Beach Boulevard, Brant Beach. Tags for people over 65 are supplied free when proof of age is submitted and do not need to be renewed. Children under 12 are admitted free.

The township's 12 miles of divided beaches span two-thirds of the Long Beach Island coastline and are interrupted by five other municipality beaches. Together they account for a little under Ten percent of the Jersey shoreline's 122 miles of sandy beach. The Beaches are protected during the season and parking can become the worst part of your trip during the height of the season.

The Area hosts a remarkable Handicapped program with Beach Wheelchairs available during your stay if needed.

For those who prefer a calmer Beach experience than the Ocean side beaches present, Bay beaches are available, with calmer, shallower waters. Restroom facilities are located at Bayview Park, located on 68th Street in Brant Beach and also in Holgate on the far southern end and at Harbor South in Loveladies. There are restrooms near the Centre Street oceanfront deck. Restrooms also are located by the bayfront in Beach Haven on Dock Road and in Schooner's Wharf and the Bay Village area. Another bay beach is located at Beach Haven Terrace at New Jersey Avenue and 131st Street.

Parking is located on alternate side-streets during the season (As marked) and also at Bayview Park and the Holgate section municipal lot, near the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge. Assitional public parking lots are located along the bayfront, near the Bay Village shopping plaza, on Taylor Avenue and on Dock Road, Centre Street, Engleside Avenue and Coral Streets. Handicapped - designated parking and ramps are available in almost all sections of the township.

Surfing is permitted near Holyoke Avenue and other areas not designated for swimming but it is left to the discretion of the lifeguards. Tennis courts and a softball diamond are near Pearl Street and Bay Avenue.
