Brick Township |
|
Brick Township offers a variety of river and Bay Beaches. Township Beaches I and III off Route 35, South Mantoloking, offer Beach passes on a daily or seasonal basis at either the beach or The Brick Township recreation office in the municipal building on 401Chambers Bridge Road. Seasonal Parking passes can also be purchased at the recreation office.
The Beaches are protected and the Beach crowds are mostly locals from the area. I and III are both handicapped accessable and there are a limited number of handicapped Wheelchairs available. (Must be reserved days in advance of visit.) There are restrooms, outdoor showers and food vendors in the area.
Township Beach II, off Route 35 South, in South Mantoloking is the new beach on the block with no parking facilities and part of it has been opened to bathing. It had been used for fishing and surfing, so there are no facilities there. The swimming area is protected though and visitors use the Beach I parking lot.
Windward Beach, on the Metedeconk River off Princeton Avenue is a nice size Riverfront park complex. Parking and admission is free at this time and there are numerous activity areas such as Boccie Courts and Horseshoe Pits. Restroom facilities, picnic areas, showers, a fishing pier, and a playground area make this a favorite spot for Locals to relax the summer days away. The Beach is protected during the season and every so often the Township offers concerts free to the public.
For more information, call the township hall at (732) - 262-1006 or pick up a complete township recreation guide at the municipal complex.
