Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach, is one of Dover Township's Beaches. Beach passes are available on a Seasonal, Half Seasonal, Weekly or Daily basis and may be purchased at numerous places in Dover Township.

The Residential and Rental area is row after row of small bungalows which would make it hard to find your rental after one or two beers. The Streets are all marked Private and parking is at a premium.

The Beach crowd is mainly Families and is a quieter crowd than most other shore communities. You will find mostly seasonal families that rent for the entire season and locals. Ocean Beach is located North of Lavallete, which separates Ocean Beach from another Dover Township Beach, Ortley Beach,There is a very small boardwalk at Ortley Beach has a small boardwalk with a gazebo, You will not find any refreshments nor concessions here and the Beaches are very clean with no food, alcoholic beverages or pets permitted on the beach or boardwalk. The Beaches are protected during the summer season. Two other municipal beaches at Shelter Cove and Money Island are even quieter, and are also frequented by a family crowd. There is a free parking lot, But it has limited space and is full very early on a summer day, restrooms are available.

Dover Township also has a municipal pool at the Snug Harbor Recreation Complex, Located at 1810 Warren Point Road, where residents and non-resedents can purchase Daily or seasonal Pool passes.
